Machinery recyclers will purchase a range of unwanted industrial machinery or can strip out entire plants for reengineering or for use as spare parts. If machinery is in poor condition scrap metal recyclers will purchase it at market price for the particular metal. Metal recyclers may offer collection (depending on the size and weight of the machinery) or drop-off services.
Unwanted industrial machinery can be reengineered for reuse, recycled for parts or if in poor condition used as scrap metal. This prevents these large waste items from being sent to landfill or left to rust, deteriorate and become obsolete. By selling machinery to other firms for reengineering and resale this provides valuable income and can help recover the original cost of the machinery or new replacement machinery
Where possible machinery recyclers will refurbish and reengineer machinery for resale on the market. If this is not possible, machinery will be deconstructed to recover usable parts. If the machinery or parts are unusable scrap metals yards will crush the metal components. These will then be sold to processors and recycled in new metal products.
