We accept plastic and glass bottles/jars with lids on. If residents are concerned about lids not being recycled they can add the lid in an alike materials container, e.g. metal lids from a beer bottle can be put into a tin and the top squeezed shut.
Hard, rigid plastic one-use containers from the kitchen, bathroom or laundry.
1. Remember to remove the lids from jars and bottles before putting them in your recycling bin. 2. Glass other than jars and bottles, such as ovenproof glass, glassware, window glass, etc cannot be recycled so dispose of it as household waste. 3. When putting your recyclables into your recycling bin, don't put them in plastic/ garbage bags. These bags cannot be recycled and contaminate the collections.
If you need a replacement kerbside recycling container, please contact Whitehorse City Council's Customer Service Centre on 03 9262 6333.
