Flatten and bundle small cardboard items in a cereal box to save space and ensure optimum recovery. Lids can be recycled: Plastic lids can be collected in a plastic milk bottle, sealed and once full placed into recycling bin. You can also slit a plastic milk bottle down the side and place lids from butter, margarine or ice-cream containers inside for recycling. Metal bottle tops and jar lids may be collected in a can, crushed to seal and placed into recycling bin.
