The Reconnect Project is a registered charity and social enterprise operating in the mobile device repair and reuse industry. We take in donations of mobile phones, tablets and laptops. Each device is securely erased and then repaired/refurbished by young adults with neurodiverse or psychosocial disabilities, under the guidance of our chief technician. Then, through a network of Caseworkers at women’s refuges, homelessness agencies, refugee services, at-risk youth outreach programs and mental health recovery groups, we get working mobile technology out to people in need.
We also have Australia’s first charity-run mobile device repair shopfront located in Penshurst. Operating as a social enterprise, we provide all the range of repairs to mobile phones and tablets – screen and battery replacements, charging port repairs etc – as well as repairs to laptops, electrical appliances and other electronic equipment.
